Many have been to Tryfan in North Wales. But did you know there is a medieval bridge hidden under the Main A5 bridge. Was a nice surprise to me too :) A little history: In the early 19th century, Scottish civil engineer Thomas Telford (1757-1834) built the A5 road as the main London-to-Dublin mail route. The current ‘Pont Pen-y-benglog’ bridge over the Afon Ogwen was built to replace a difficult, steep section of the earlier coach route at the western end of Llyn Ogwen. And if you're interested, a little history on the place. Tucked away in the rugged beauty of Snowdonia, Anglesey Barracks is a time capsule waiting to be explored. Just a short stroll from Llanberis and the shores of Llyn Padarn, this row of weathered stone cottages stands in the heart of the world-famous Dinorwic Quarry — a silent witness to a bygone era. Built in the 1870s for quarrymen whose homes lay too far to reach after a long day’s toil, the two rows of 11 identical houses once echoed with the simple routines of working life. Step closer, and you can almost hear the clink of tools and the low murmur of voices after a day in the slate pits. Looking back over 25 Years. When I tried digital DSLR photographer for the first time. I was invited to take some shots for a Channel 4 documentary. The lighting wasn't great, so had to push this little camera. It was a Nikon D70 with a tiny sensor at 6mega pixels, couldn't afford a D1 ;) Had good lenses, so saved the day. It's amazing how far digital photography and the editing tools at hand have transformed photography. Still regret selling my darkroom kit. Originally an enclosure castle of the 13th century, it was added to and altered over the years until when in 1892 it took on its present appearance.
